What hotel in Provence, Alpes, Cote d'Azur has not despaired after a disastrous month of October, due to strikes, and bad time? I guess the answer is no! We all had a month with first catastrophic cancellations due to strikes problems: gas station, dry town invaded by rampaging CGTistes, and any other issues arising, and then afterwards, we had entitled to two good big weekends of bad weather with heavy rain, departments in orange alerts, and cancellation not knowing what to do. Following this cascade of human and natural adventures, so I finished my month of October with a loss of CA 20% over the previous year, no fun.
So how will finish this year 2010, and how to start 2011?
As every winter, everything is good to take until late February, the slightest reservation account nothing should be ignored, continue to solicit business in motion by offering attractive rates. I began to sleep and already routing e-mail, clubs recontacting hike came this year, and sending promotional offers to dozens of other clubs touring / cycling / sports and other readily usable in the region. I will start the season in curing my average tariff regime, stop promotions, blocking weekends Ascension and Pentecost for groups wishing to spend several days with half board. And finally, I intend to put the bar higher than last year for next summer accepting only stays of 5 or more days (last year, I opted for 3 days minimum), knowing that last summer was a real success!
In terms of finance, for now, this year s'annone like last year with a 2% difference between the AC this year and 2009 for the summer and winter s 'balance as though winter is chaotic.
